This position is based at ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus in Spring, Texas, located just north of Houston.

Position Overview

The Issues-Based Digital Campaigns Advisor will lead end-to-end digital advocacy and issues-based marketing campaigns that connect public policy, corporate reputation, and brand strategy. This role requires the ability to translate complex technical, regulatory, and policy topics into compelling digital narratives while partnering closely with Corporate Affairs, Legal, Policy, and business leadership.

The successful candidate will combine strategic planning, digital marketing expertise, analytics, stakeholder engagement, and executive communication skills to influence reputation and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead issues-based, advocacy, and policy-driven digital campaigns from strategy through execution and performance measurement.
  • Develop integrated digital marketing strategies supporting corporate reputation and public affairs objectives.
  • Translate complex technical and policy-related topics into compelling brand narratives and digital content.
  • Support stakeholder engagement initiatives across digital communication channels.
  • Develop audience segmentation strategies using Account-Based Marketing (ABM), stakeholder mapping, and intent-based targeting.
  • Manage multi-channel campaigns across paid social, search, display, video, email marketing, SEO, and advocacy platforms.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Affairs, Policy, Legal, and cross-functional business teams.
  • Lead agency relationships, vendor management, and campaign execution.
  • Develop dashboards and performance reporting using campaign attribution, audience engagement, sentiment analysis, and business metrics.
  • Drive continuous optimization using data, testing methodologies, and performance insights.
  • Support governance, compliance, and platform policy adherence across digital campaigns.
  • Contribute to crisis communication, rapid-response initiatives, and reputation management strategies when required.

Required Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience leading issues-based, advocacy, or policy-driven digital campaigns from strategy through execution and measurement within B2B environments.
  • Strong marketing and brand management experience with the ability to translate technical or policy-heavy topics into compelling narratives.
  • Experience in Washington D.C. political campaigns, public affairs, issue advocacy, or policy communications.
  • Expertise across modern digital marketing platforms, including paid social, programmatic advertising, display advertising, search marketing, video marketing, email marketing automation, website optimization, and SEO.
  • Experience using advocacy platforms supporting grassroots mobilization, petitioning, patch-through calling, and legislator engagement.
  • Strong understanding of audience strategy, stakeholder mapping, Account-Based Marketing (ABM), and intent-based targeting.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including campaign attribution, brand lift analysis, audience measurement, sentiment analysis, funnel optimization, and dashboard development.
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries such as energy, industrials, infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Experience collaborating with Policy, Legal, and Corporate Affairs teams.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience leading agencies, managing vendors, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the energy sector, including upstream, midstream, downstream, power, renewables, LNG, hydrogen, carbon markets, and low-carbon technologies.
  • Experience with Account-Based Marketing platforms such as Demandbase or 6sense.
  • Experience using marketing automation and CRM platforms, including Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua, and Salesforce.
  • Experience with social listening platforms such as Talkwalker, Khoros, and Sprinklr.
  • Experience with analytics and business intelligence platforms, including Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Looker, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms and optimization methodologies.
  • Background in crisis communications, rapid-response digital campaigns, or corporate reputation management.
