Program Purpose & Objectives

The Global Human Resources (GHR) Summer Associate Development Program is designed to introduce students to Bank of America’s organization that is responsible for making Bank of America a great place to work by serving as a strategic partner to every business across the enterprise.

The program provides hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to leaders across the enterprise while building foundational skills for a career in Human Resources.

Duration & Structure

This is a 10-week summer internship program. Summer Associates are placed on one team within Global Human Resources and participate in structured training, project-based work, mentorship, networking opportunities, and professional development sessions throughout the summer.

Global Human Resources Summer Associate

Role Purpose

Summer Associates support key human resources initiatives while gaining hands-on experience and exposure to senior HR leaders. Participants contribute to business advisory work, HR operations, and special projects that align talent strategy with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support line-of-business initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with HR leaders to understand how human capital strategy supports business outcomes.
  • Contribute to business advisory work, HR processes, operations, and special projects.
  • Assist with analysis, reporting, and presentation development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on enterprise HR initiatives.

Day-in-the-Life

Summer Associates work as part of a Global Human Resources team, supporting ongoing initiatives, attending team meetings and leadership discussions, contributing to analysis and deliverables, and engaging in training, mentorship, speaker series, networking events, and community service opportunities.

Educational Requirements

Degree Type

  • Master’s Degree or MBA degree program.
  • Considered candidates should be in their penultimate year of school.
  • Master’s candidates should have at least 3 years of full-time professional experience.
