Amazon Advertising is seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join the AI Gen Creative Building team in New York. This role offers the opportunity to build next-generation AI-powered creative solutions that help advertisers create engaging, high-performing digital advertising experiences at massive scale.

The successful candidate will design and develop scalable full-stack software systems while leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and agent-based architectures to accelerate innovation across Amazon Advertising.

Position Overview

The Senior Software Development Engineer will combine strong full-stack engineering expertise with deep knowledge of AI agent architectures, Large Language Models (LLMs), memory systems, and context management to develop highly scalable software platforms.

This position requires close collaboration with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and partner engineering teams across Amazon Advertising while driving technical innovation and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement major software deliverables across the entire technology stack.
• Develop scalable frontend applications, backend APIs, databases, infrastructure, and AI agent architectures.
• Lead end-to-end software development initiatives from architecture through production deployment.
• Build scalable software services that reduce engineering complexity while enabling partner team autonomy.
• Leverage Artificial Intelligence throughout the software development lifecycle for coding, debugging, testing, and problem-solving.
• Adopt AI-assisted software engineering practices to improve developer productivity.
• Develop secure, maintainable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, Software Engineers, and partner organizations.
• Drive software architecture decisions and technical design reviews.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership across engineering teams.
• Stay current with rapidly evolving AI technologies and industry best practices.
• Challenge existing approaches and continuously improve engineering standards.

• Minimum five (5) years of non-internship professional software development experience.

• Experience serving as a technical mentor, engineering lead, or leading software engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of experience across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline.

Compensation

Base Salary Range (New York): USD $184,900 – $250,200 annually

Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and geographic location.
