Key Responsibilities of a Relationship Banker
In this position, you will:
- Put clients first: Deliver attentive, friendly, and welcoming service that exceeds client expectations and creates memorable experiences
- Build lasting relationships: Manage assigned clients and proactively meet with them both in person and over the phone to understand their financial needs and circumstances
- Provide consultative guidance: Use clear, polite communication to ask questions, listen actively, and anticipate client needs to build trust
- Offer tailored solutions: Leverage your financial knowledge to recommend products and services that address specific client needs and financial goals
- Drive digital adoption: Educate and connect clients to technology solutions including the Chase Mobile App, Chase.com, and ATMs to enable convenient, 24/7 banking
- Acquire and retain clients: Take a lead role in acquiring new clients, deepening existing relationships, and retaining meaningful business
- Collaborate with specialists: Learn products, services, and procedures quickly to consult with clients and connect them with our team of financial experts for specialized needs
- Ensure compliance: Adhere to all banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including risk management and compliance obligations
Required Qualifications for Relationship Banker Role
Banking & Sales Experience
- Minimum 1+ year of sales experience in retail banking, financial services, or related industries
- Proven success in establishing new clients, deepening client relationships, and delivering results
- Demonstrated ability to create memorable client experiences and elevate customer service standards
Communication & Client Service Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone
- Proven ability to tailor financial products and services to meet clients with differing needs
- Strong ability to quickly and effectively resolve client issues with attention to detail
- Ability to build trust and maintain consistent, high-quality client experiences
Licensing & Regulatory Requirements
The following licenses and certifications are REQUIRED minimum qualifications:
- Securities Industry Essential (SIE) Exam – Pass required
- FINRA Series 6 License – Compliance required
- State Registration – Required (including Series 63 if applicable in NY)
- Life Insurance License – Minimum requirement
- NMLS Registration – Required under SAFE Act for Loan Originator compliance

Education & Background Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent (minimum)
- Ability to work branch hours including weekends and some evenings
- Ability to operate within established risk parameters and meet compliance obligations
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or military equivalent
- Prior experience adhering to banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of Dodd-Frank Act and Truth in Lending Act regulations
- Prior mortgage or loan origination experience
Dodd-Frank & Truth in Lending Act Compliance – Important Information
Loan Originator Requirements
This position is subject to Dodd-Frank Act and Truth in Lending Act qualification requirements for Loan Originators. As a Relationship Banker, you will be involved in loan origination activities and must comply with all federal regulations.

- NMLS registration must grant access to and reflect your employment with JPMorganChase
- Your continued employment is contingent upon successful NMLS registration immediately after your start date
- You must complete timely annual renewal and required updates

Compensation & Total Rewards Package
Base Salary
$25.00 – $32.69 per hour (Forest Hills, NY location)
Base salary is determined based on the role, your relevant experience, skill set, and work location. Commission-based pay and/or discretionary incentive compensation may be available in eligible roles, awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions.
